There are several ways you can convert your color image into black and white. A fast way is to use the keyboard shortcut “V” from either the Library or Develop Module. It’s a good way to see if you like your image in b&w in the first place, as some images work beautifully, while others not so well.
In this video I’ll show you a couple of other ways: using a preset, the B&W option from the HSL panel or taking the saturation down all the way in the Saturation section of the HSL panel. And I’ll show you a handy way to selectively adjust the brightness/darkness of areas based on the underlying color. Watch this video to learn more.
